Am 11. November 2023 wurde an der Diplomfeier der ETH Zürich der Masterpreis von GEOSUISSE und IGS durch GEOSUISSE-Präsident Matthias Widmer an Yuanwen Yue überreicht.

Kurzbericht der Masterarbeit: Yuanwen Yue carried out his master’s thesis in collaboration with the ETH AI Center, under the supervision of Dr. Theodora Kontogianni, Prof. Siyu Tang, and Prof. Konrad Schindler. Manually annotating ground-truth segmentation masks for 3D point clouds is expensive. In his thesis, Yuanwen worked on interactive 3D segmentation, where users collaborate with a deep learning model and guide object segmentation in 3D point clouds with interactive clicks. He proposed a deep learning model that enables users to segment multiple objects in a 3D scene simultaneously. His approach significantly reduces user efforts and delivers state-of-the-art results with lower computational costs.
